Weena Pauly-Tarr, Creator of SE+AM, C-IAYT, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Dancer
Weena Pauly-Tarr has been working and playing in the worlds of dance, movement training, and somatic therapy in New York City for 24 years.
In 2008, she founded her somatic therapy practice, ReConnect, which has evolved since that time from yoga therapy to include her synergistic blend of Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Authentic Movement (AM) she developed called SE+AM.
Weena co-founded the group, Duvet, where seven movement artists explore performance and radical culture development and offer improvisational performances, events, and classes such as the most recent performance, These Conditions: Duvet at The New School, March 6th, 2022.
Weena is also facilitator and team member for Rooted Global Village, a virtual culture-building community centered on embodied liberation and communal healing.
Weena's training includes teaching credentials for Yoga Therapy, Mindfulness Meditation, Pilates, Functional Strength, and Somatic Experiencing Trauma Resolution and her dance portfolio includes being a company member with STREB, Brian Brooks Moving Company, David Neumann/Advanced Beginner Group, Young Jean Lee's Theater Company, and most recently with Katie Workum, with whom she is in process of developing a two-woman show to premiere in late 2022.
Weena lives in NYC with her husband, four kids, and their bunny.
